ÿþIn a year that hosted the nike air max 95 World Cup and saw soccer take hold in places it was once known to be fairly dormant (the U.S. in particular), it comes as no surprise that sneakers begin to draw greater inspiration from the world's most popular sport. Nike birthed models like the Free Hypervenom Mid during this time, which we take a closer look at today; designed with performance cues throughout the base, black leather adorns much of the upper while a grey Nike Free 3.0 sole rest beneath. Those who've been riding with Nike Basketball since the early 90s will look at the new Nike Hyperrev 2016 and notice the influences from an oft-forgotten model: the Nike Air Shake NDestrukt . The Hyperrev series is as ever-changing as Nike's signature athlete models, as the past three years have given us silhouettes that are unrecognizable to the precursors. Here a unique forefoot strap holds down the majority of the mesh and fuse based upper while a neoprene slip-on nike metcons construction is sure to add a lockdown fit and sense of comfort around the ankle collar.
The Hyperrev 2016 also boasts large Swoosh branding in a similar way that James Harden's unofficial signature, the Nike Hyperchase, did with the crooked finish.
